The Unfortunate Healthcare Lone-Vote by Senator Olympia Snowe: AARP's Older Members will be Tragically Harmed. AARP's Staff Members and Lobbyists are Progressive Liberal = Backward Thinking.

By Carole Wade

Today's long-time members of AARP have been placed closer to losing their healthcare benefits by Senator Snowe's Senate Vote. Although The Wall Street Journal has cited in article after article about AARP members quitting the organization, AARP continues to enthusiastically back the Obama White House Healthcare convoluted plan.

AARP's Washington lobbyists are selling out their rural members while rewarding their city urban members. In other words, Obama/AARP soul-mates don't care about the millions and millions and millions of older Americans who reside throughout rural areas in every state.

David Certner's (August 11th, 2009) interview on FOXNEWS' Bill O'Reilly Show came across as a smug, snarling, smirking liar -- a disgrace to the past professionalism of the AARP's full-time paid staffers. In fact, laid off executives -- with families to support -- should apply for Mr. Certner's position.

Mr. Certner's nonsense about "forty million plus" Americans who currently lack health insurance coverage must be refuted:

(1) Millions of young men choose to engage in "extreme sports" like snowboarding outside the boundaries of ski slopes, skateboarding in traffic and everywhere else, surfing alongside breakwaters where the waves are larger, motorcycling without helmets, and on and on.

(2) Millions upon millions of young women drive giant SUV trucks while texing and screaming on their cell-phones. They are seen constantly -- notwithstanding the legal prohibitions in many states. These young women cause accidents daily -- harming themselves and innocent people who get in their way!

(3) Many trades people in their forties and fifties -- now that President Obama is pushing his health care program so aggressively -- have cancelled their employer-provided coverage because the eighty-dollar monthly co-insurance or co-pay charges are interfering with their purchases of Global Positioning devices for their pick-up trucks. They sacrifice their health insurance for GPS instead of reading road maps!

Why should AARP's health care policy staffers bankrupt their elderly members to cover millions of individuals uninsured by their own choice?

AARP's Healthcare Blues and Its Never Ending Lies

AARP's Healthcare Blues and Its Never Ending Lies

By Carole Wade

The Wall Street Journal's August 21st, 2009 article "AARP Takes Heat Over Health Stand" explains why AARP members are quitting the organization.  Maybe it is because of David Certner's interview on the Bill O'Reilly show on August 11th.
http://blogs.wsj.com/health/2009/08/21/health-reform-aarp-astroturf-and-the-co-op-public-plan/

Certner comes across again and again as a smug, snarling, smirking liar -- a disgrace to the past professionalism of the AARP's full-time paid staffers.  Replacing its new staffers would be a good beginning to getting AARP back to its roots of representing "older" people.

David Certner's and David Sloane's nonsense about forty million plus Americans who currently lack health insurance coverage needs to be refuted.  Millions of young men choose to engage in "extreme sports" like snowboarding outside the boundaries of ski slopes, skateboarding in traffic and everywhere else, surfing alongside breakwaters where the waves are larger, motorcycling without helmets, and on and on.

Millions upon millions of young women drive giant SUV trucks while texting and screaming on their cell-phones.  They are seen constantly notwithstanding the legal prohibitions here in California and elsewhere too.

Tradespeople in their forties and fifties tell us -- now that President Obama is pushing his health care program so aggressively -- that they have cancelled their employer-provided coverage because the eighty dollar monthly co-insurance or co-pay charges are interfering with their purchases of Global Positioning devices for their pick-up trucks.  They sacrifice their health insurance for GPS instead of reading road maps!

Why should the AARP's current group of health care policy staffers bankrupt its elderly members to cover these many millions of individuals uninsured by their own choice?

President Barack Obama's University of Chicago Releases Pet Study

A highly scholarly study -- http://www-news.uchicago.edu/releases/08/080118.epley.shtml -- completed at the University of Chicago (where President Barack Obama was a professor for over twelve years states) that ordinary inanimate objects -- including pets -- bring solace to human loneliness … but at the price of "dehumanization." The research is proven by a prestigious team of psychologists and behavioral and social scientists.

Politically motivated AARP and Pet Industry funded focus groups tout the $ 75 Billion a year Pet Industry's messages (despite the economy) daily on national television outlets including ABC, NBC, and CBS. Their planted unconfirmed video pet stories include selling the fear of loneliness. The American Medical Association, however, overwhelmingly promotes human touch and human conversations to help older people to overcome the fear of being alone.

Industries continually monitor lonely people through consumer trends analyses. Executives form focus groups to gather as much information as possible. One decade ago these focus groups began seeing a growing population choosing isolation from human stress. Both corporations and the media saw a tremendous opportunity to exploit lonely women and men for profit. Subsequently, corporations began giving their employees "pet-dog" health insurance programs instead of offering much more costly employees' "children's" health insurance to their workers.

The journal Psychological Science presents remarkably new important research from the University of Chicago where Nicholas Epley and his Harvard University colleague Scott Akalis document how people -- with a lack of connection to other people -- can be channeled into viewing objects -- including pets -- for human-like relationships. Epley and his co-authors have published their findings about what scientists call "anthropomorphism."
